Protective ring with the words ‘Save and Protect’

The slender calligraphic rendering of the prayer ‘Save and Protect’ is interwoven with ornate embossed clover, an ancient Russian motif and symbol of the Holy Trinity. Rings containing sacred symbols and inscriptions are known as ‘protective’ rings; they perform the function of a small icon worn on the hand.
