Saint Nicholas the Miracle Worker

Saint Nicholas the Miracle Worker is depicted on this richly decorated miniature icon, who is one of the most venerated saints. The saint raises his right hand as a gesture of blessing whilst holding the Gospel in his left. The icon is crowed by decorative insignia in the form of a cross which sits within a blossoming floral bud. On the reverse of the icon, the opening words of a prayer dedicated to Saint Nicholas are quoted beneath a depiction of the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove.
