The Tribute Money Easter Egg

This Easter egg depicts the story from the Gospel of Matthew (17:24–27) in which Christ tells the apostle Peter to go to the lake and catch a fish in whose mouth he will find a coin – tribute money for the temple. The fish caught by St. Peter curves around the egg; the coin in its mouth bears an image of Zeus and the eagle, and the loop at the top of the piece is designed in the shape of a fishing hook.
