Pearl Cross

This piece is decorated with precious pearls in the shape of the symbolic circle of imperfect human existence. Seven small pearls representing the seven church sacraments punctuate the circle, which is amplified by the pearly glow. The pearl is of great significance in the Christian tradition, as it represents the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 13:46). The halo of pearls symbolizes the multifariousness of divine power, whilst the individual pearl is a sign of the Word of God. Just like the seven rays of the Sun of Truth, the glow of the Sun of Truth brings to mind the Christian sacraments which transmit the invisible grace of God.
