Resurrection. Easter Egg with an Image of Our Lady of Murom

According to legend, the icon of Our Lady of Murom is the oldest image of the Hodegetria, as it was brought to Rus in the 11th century. The miraculous image depicts the Infant Christ holding a scroll of Scripture and offering a blessing with his right hand. The reverse side of the piece depicts Ascension Day, one of the 12 Great Feasts, which is celebrated on the 40th day after Easter in honour of the ascension of Jesus Christ to heaven and the promise of his second coming.
