This eight-pointed cross is notable for its simplicity and the absence of all extraneous images. The middle of the cross is encircled by a decorative crescent shape called a tsata, the symbol of the Saviour, who endured the agony of crucifixion. On the reverse of the piece are the words of the prayer ‘Let God Arise’, crowned by a miniature blossoming cross.
